Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of InternetSpeedTest.online (https://internetspeedtest.online/), including our browser-based speed testing tools, shareable results, and educational technical guides. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Updated October 6, 2026

Permitted use and access

InternetSpeedTest.online (https://internetspeedtest.online/) is provided free of charge for personal, educational, and internal diagnostic use. You may use our home page speed test and specialized diagnostic tools to evaluate the performance of your broadband or mobile connection, troubleshoot local network bottlenecks, and research telecommunications technologies through our published articles.

Data consumption on metered networks

Our speed test performs genuine network data transfers across progressively larger binary payloads to saturate your connection and determine maximum sustained line throughput:

  • On fast broadband connections where the engine ramps up to its largest chunk sizes, a complete test run can transfer several hundred megabytes (and in some cases exceed 1 GB) of data across download and upload streams combined. Slower connections conclude earlier to conserve bandwidth.
  • If you execute tests over a metered internet subscription, capped mobile data plan, or international roaming network, all transferred bytes count against your provider's monthly allowance. Check our guide on mobile speed testing for advice on cellular data usage.
  • You are solely responsible for any data overage fees, roaming penalties, or bandwidth throttling imposed by your internet or mobile service provider as a result of running tests on our platform.

Prohibited automated and abusive use

To preserve infrastructure stability and ensure uninterrupted access for all visitors, you agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Automated or Programmatic Flooding: You may not use automated scripts, bots, spiders, or headless browser instances to execute recurring speed tests against our endpoints without prior written consent.
  • Denial-of-Service & Stress Testing: You may not use our testing infrastructure, relay server endpoints, or static assets to conduct denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, stress-test third-party networks, or circumvent rate-limiting mechanisms.
  • API Token Harvesting: You may not make direct, automated, or scripted requests to our serverless endpoint at /api/turn-credentials to harvest relay tokens or tunnel unauthorized UDP traffic through Cloudflare's TURN servers.
  • Framing & Scrape Re-branding: You may not display our testing widgets or original technical articles inside an iframe or wrapper application that misrepresents our service or strips attribution.

We reserve the right to restrict or block IP addresses, autonomous system numbers (ASNs), or user agents that violate these acceptable use provisions.

Diagnostic nature of tools and guides

The speed test results, activity ratings, and troubleshooting articles provided on InternetSpeedTest.online are intended exclusively for general informational and diagnostic purposes:

  • Not Professional Engineering Advice: Our troubleshooting guides (such as how to fix slow internet and how to reduce ping) offer general home networking best practices. They do not constitute certified network engineering consultations, telecom infrastructure blueprints, or safety advice for handling electrical equipment.
  • Not Formal Contractual Proof: Measurements reflect browser-to-edge network performance at a specific moment in time. They do not constitute legally binding evidence of your internet service provider's contractual non-compliance. Most ISPs require proprietary, hardware-level diagnostic protocols (such as TR-069 or TR-143 router diagnostics) to adjudicate service-level agreement (SLA) claims. Consult our Disclaimer for further details.

Shared result link disclaimers

When you generate a shared result link (e.g., https://internetspeedtest.online/result/v1-[encoded-values]/), the numbers displayed on that page are decoded entirely from the URL string itself. Our servers do not store, verify, or cryptographically sign shared result links. Because anyone who possesses a shared URL can modify the encoded parameters, you should never rely on an unverified shared result link as proof of network performance in a commercial or legal dispute.

Intellectual property and open source

You may quote brief excerpts or link directly to our pages provided clear attribution and a hyperlink back to the original source are included.

Business contracts, licensing & syndication

For organizations, telecommunications research groups, or web publishers seeking formal contractual agreements, content syndication, API licensing, or custom network diagnostic integrations with InternetSpeedTest.online:

All commercial agreements, custom white-label deployments, and enterprise usage arrangements require an executed written contract approved by our administrative desk.

Service availability and dependencies

We strive to maintain high availability and reliability for our testing tools and documentation. However, our testing engine relies on third-party infrastructure, including Cloudflare's Anycast network and Realtime TURN relays. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous operation. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature, test parameter, or article at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

This website, its speed test tools, and all published content are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, neither InternetSpeedTest.online nor its operators shall be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of this site, including but not limited to:

  • Decisions to switch, purchase, or cancel internet service plans based on our content;
  • Damage to hardware or configuration errors resulting from router troubleshooting;
  • Data charges or overage fees incurred by running speed tests;
  • Loss of data, profits, or business interruption arising from site downtime.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes statutory consumer protection rights that cannot be lawfully waived in your jurisdiction.

Modifications to terms & contact

When modifications are made, the revision date indicated in our site metadata will be updated. Your continued use of the website following published updates indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
